The Cleveland Photographic Society isn’t your typical camera club. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Broadview Heights, Ohio who offers a variety of activities for members and visitors alike — from guest speakers to special interest groups, competitions to classes.

CPS has operated continuously since 1887, making us one of the oldest camera clubs in North America. For over 135 years, CPS provided a community for photographers to learn, challenge and inspire each other. CPS does not specialize in any one photographic discipline, instead educating and encouraging its members to explore all subjects and types of photography.

We currently have about 600 members and are one of very few clubs to have our own permanent clubroom, where local members meet for classes, presentations and special interest groups.

Many of our events are also available virtually, for those who live too far to drive or simply prefer the convenience of staying home!

Member Activities

We invite you to visit us and see for yourself all we have to offer. Most events are open to guests and visitors at no charge, unless specifically listed as members only or a part of our School of Photography programs. All Friday evening meetings begin at 7:30 pm, unless otherwise announced. Our clubroom is ADA-friendly and people of all abilities are welcome. CPS also sponsors many other events, such as special workshops, social activities and field trips to provide ideas, opportunities and inspiration.

Weekly Meetings

Cleveland Photographic Society members meet each week for competitions, critiques, programs, and workshops. These are excellent opportunities for photographers to display their work and receive valuable feedback. Past programs and workshops have included topics such as macro photography, light painting, portraiture and lighting and more. There is ample time before and after meetings to meet with fellow members, guests, and the evening’s presenters. Regardless of your photographic interest, CPS has something for you. Regular meetings are held on Friday evenings and begin at 7:30 pm. All are welcome!

Twelve times each year, competition meetings are held on Friday evenings. While only CPS members and current School of Photography students can compete, all are welcome to attend.

Board meetings are held bi-monthly on the second Thursday of the month. See our calendar for exact dates and times.
