DESCRIPTION:\n\nABOUT WALLY NELL\n\nWally Nell (FPSSA\,FPPSDC)\, originally
  from South Africa\, has lived in Egypt for 6 years and is now back in the
  United States\, currently in the Akron/Cleveland\, Ohio area. He is a pro
 fessional freelance photographer who has contributed to ZUMA Press\, and o
 ther publications and news agencies while working both in the Middle East 
 covering news and documentary work\, and covering sport and other event ph
 otography in the USA. He bought his first camera in 1984 and by 1986 he wa
 s doing sport and photojournalism for The Star\, a major newspaper in Sout
 h Africa. He accredits some of his initial growth to the fact that he belo
 nged to a camera club in Johannesburg\, and the friendly rivalry he had wi
 th fellow photographers. As an amateur photographer he received a Fellowsh
 ip from the Photographic Society of Southern Africa (FPSSA).\n\nIn 1990 he
  moved to the United States and eventually settled in San Diego\, CA. Duri
 ng his time in the US\, his clients required sport photography\, portraitu
 re\, journalism and wedding photography. He has received numerous awards a
 nd has had a number of exhibitions in various locations both as part of ex
 hibitions and alone. As a professional photographer he joined the Professi
 onal Photographers of San Diego and soon gained a Fellowship from them as 
 well (FPPSDC). He has been reported on by a San Diego newspaper for his we
 dding photography\, and a national sport magazine did an article on him on
  his volleyball photography.\n\nAmong others\, his work has appeared in Sp
 orts Illustrated\, National Geographic Traveler\, Outside Magazine\, New Y
 ork Times\, London Times\, North County Times\, Honolulu Star Advertiser\,
  The Star\, Volleyball Magazine\, DIG Magazine\, Southern California Home 
 and Outdoor magazine\, San Diego Sport Magazine\; and commercial clients i
 nclude NIKE\, SPEEDO\, VISA\, Mountain Dew\, Club Sportswear\, Freestyle W
 atches\, the United Nations and many more. His images have graced the cove
 rs of many magazines.\n\nHe has also been an invited photographic presente
 r/lecturer in a number of international institutions in the USA\, Mexico\,
  South Africa\, Australia and Egypt\, and has developed course material fo
 r photography schools.\n\nWhile covering the Egyptian Revolution in early 
 2011\, he was shot while covering protests\, but has fully recovered.
