He is a professional freelance phot ographer who has contributed to ZUMA Press\, and other publications and ne ws agencies while working both in the Middle East covering news and docume ntary work\, and covering sport and other event photography in the USA. He bought his first camera in 1984 and by 1986 he was doing sport and photoj ournalism for The Star\, a major newspaper in South Africa. He accredits s ome of his initial growth to the fact that he belonged to a camera club in Johannesburg\, and the friendly rivalry he had with fellow photographers. As an amateur photographer he received a Fellowship from the Photographic Society of Southern Africa (FPSSA).\n\nIn 1990 he moved to the United Sta tes and eventually settled in San Diego\, CA. During his time in the US\, his clients required sport photography\, portraiture\, journalism and wedd ing photography. He has received numerous awards and has had a number of e xhibitions in various locations both as part of exhibitions and alone. As a professional photographer he joined the Professional Photographers of Sa n Diego and soon gained a Fellowship from them as well (FPPSDC). He has be en reported on by a San Diego newspaper for his wedding photography\, and a national sport magazine did an article on him on his volleyball photogra phy.\n\nAmong others\, his work has appeared in Sports Illustrated\, Natio nal Geographic Traveler\, Outside Magazine\, New York Times\, London Times \, North County Times\, Honolulu Star Advertiser\, The Star\, Volleyball M agazine\, DIG Magazine\, Southern California Home and Outdoor magazine\, S an Diego Sport Magazine\; and commercial clients include NIKE\, SPEEDO\, V ISA\, Mountain Dew\, Club Sportswear\, Freestyle Watches\, the United Nati ons and many more. His images have graced the covers of many magazines.\n\ nHe has also been an invited photographic presenter/lecturer in a number o f international institutions in the USA\, Mexico\, South Africa\, Australi a and Egypt\, and has developed course material for photography schools.\n \nWhile covering the Egyptian Revolution in early 2011\, he was shot while covering protests\, but has fully recovered.\n\nwww.wallynell.com\n\n\n\n \nBill Keaton\nGeorge W. (Bill) Keaton\nMy interest in photography started in high school\, where as a senior I was one of three school yearbook pho tographers.\nIn 1977-1978 I was co-owner of a portrait/wedding studio call ed “The Country Studio\,” located in Mt. Gilead\, OH.\nI graduated in 1978 from The Ohio State University with a BA in journalism. Following gra duation I worked as a journalist/photojournalist for the Jefferson (OH) Ga zette\, the Cody (WY) Enterprise\, the Mount Vernon (OH) Daily News and fo r the Oberlin (OH) Gazette. During employment at those papers I won awards for my photography at both the state and national level.\nI purchased my first camera\, a Nikon Nikkormat\, in 1976 and have been a Nikon user ever since.
