SUMMARY:ICM in the Studio - a different approach to creating abstract art w
ith camera movement - David Day Photographer - Zoom Presentation - Club wi
 ll be open
DESCRIPTION:\n\nAbout David Day and his ICM Photography\n\nDavid Day began
his work as a fine arts photographer in Fairfield\, CT in 1998. During tha
t period\, he was focused on traditional black and white photography of hi
storic landmarks.\nAfter moving to Hendersonville\, North Carolina in 2014
\, David began focusing on the development of a new form of abstract photo
graphy by adapting and refining intentional camera movement techniques to
studio subjects such as wire\, tissue paper\, plastic tape\, parchment pap
 er\, newsprint\, twigs\, leaves\, and a variety of other throw-away items.
\nIn February\, 2023 after several competition wins for his work\, he beca
me an ‘Artist In Residence’ at the Northern Light Gallery\, Albuquerqu
e\, NM. In December\, 2023 he was recognized as ‘Artist of the Year’ a
t the same gallery. Throughout 2023 and 2024\, his work has been exhibited
  in many cities including Vancouver\, Toronto\, Albuquerque\, Minneapolis\
, and New York City. In August\, 2024\, David’s ‘Perils Along The Road
Less Traveled’ captured first-place at the annual Carolina’s Photogra
 phy competition in Charlotte\, NC.\nOn the internet\, David’s work can b
 e found on his website\, https://ddayicmart.com\, on Facebook at D’Day P
hotographic Art\, and on Instagram @ddayicm. Locally\, David’s work can
be viewed at the ArtMob Studios (Hendersonville)\, and Tryon Painters and
Sculptors (Tryon).\n\nArtist Statement:\nDreams often shift abruptly from
one interactive experience to another in unrelated yet seemingly connected
ways. My work attempts to capture these experiences and provide opportuni
ties for the viewer to make connections that would not otherwise be consid
ered outside of lucid dream events.\n\nTitle: ICM in the Studio - a differ
ent approach to creating abstract art with camera movement.\n\nDescription
: This presentation covers the methods used to adapt intentional camera mo
vement to a studio environment using common materials that can be recycled
. Using processes developed from several years of experimentation\, David
will explain how scene creation\, lighting\, camera equipment selection\,
and movement techniques are integrated to produce captivating abstract art
. Examples of his work will be provided throughout the presentation to giv
e the audience an appreciation for the abstract image possibilities with i
ntentional camera movement in a controlled studio setting..\n\nwebsite: ht
