Scavenger Hunt
Membership

In addition to regular meetings and opportunities to compete and grow as photographers, CPS offers its members a variety of experiences related to a common interest in photography.

While regular meetings are geared toward more general audiences, the Club also frequently hosts Specialty Nights on weekdays throughout the year. These have included :

Photoshop Night - a chance to learn more about specific aspects of this powerful software program. Many members use various versions of Photoshop to enhance their photographs and to explore the more creative sides of the "Digital Darkroom" and these evenings allow for opportunities to learn and share.

Movie Nights -About once a month, a DVD-based movie on a topic related to photography is shown, using the Club's digital projector and sound system. And of course free microwave popcorn is served!

Winners and Losers Nights - CPS competitions are based on education and the opportunity to become better photographers, and these evenings take those concepts a step further. On "Winners" night, those members who have placed in recent competitions are invited to share information on the creative thought process and/or the technical details behind their winning images. "Losers" Nights, on the other hand, provide an opportunity for those who did not receive an award in competition to display their work and hear constructive critiques from other members - providing insight and fresh perspective on their work.

Other Opportunities - In addition, CPS offers fun, education and fellowship - including scheduled field trips to various events and destinations (some of which would be difficult or impossible to visit otherwise) and visits to traveling exhibits of photographic works. There's also plenty of opportunity for fun, including our annual judges Appreciation Picnic, Workshops and Open Houses to promote the Club and its School of Photography- and the Social Event of the Year: The Club's Annual Awards Banquet.

Members are always invited to suggest additional topics and events, and many of our most popular and successful programs come from member ideas. Come and join us and you'll find there's almost always something new.
