Then and Now
CPS was formed in 1887 and has operated continuously since that time, making it - to our knowledge - the second oldest camera club in North America. Just think of it -- we have been operating in three different centuries!!! And hopefully for a lot longer.
We currently have over 100 members and are one of only a very few clubs to have our own permanent clubroom. These facilities allow CPS to conduct a Photo School every Fall and Spring featuring sessions on Fundamentals of Good Photography and Digital Imaging.
Member Services
We invite you to visit us any time there is a scheduled meeting, on Friday evenings, to find out what our programs and competitions are like. These sessions are open to guests and there is no charge. We are located in the Broadview Municipal Center complex in Broadview Heights: 9543 Broadview Rd. Meetings begin at 8:00 p.m., unless otherwise announced. Our clubroom is ADA friendly and people of all abilities are welcome
CPS also sponsors many other events for members (including photo school students) such as special showings, workshops, social activities and field trips to provide ideas, opportunities and inspiration. Our newsletter is "The Darkroom Door". It contains club news items, schedules and highlights of upcoming events, member photos, competition results, and member points standings in each competition category. It also contains "how to" articles by experienced club photographers, as well as occasional stories about members. Take a look at our current and archived newsletters here
