Then and Now

CPS has operated continuously since 1887, making us one of the oldest camera clubs in North America. For over 125 years, CPS has grown and adapted, embracing new techniques and technologies - and remains vibrant and active. CPS does not specialize in any one photographic discipline, instead educating and encouraging its members to explore all subjects and types of photography. While the majority of members have converted to digital formats, film enthusiasts remain an active minority.

We currently have over 500 members and are one of only a very few clubs to have our own permanent clubroom. These facilities allow CPS to conduct a Photo School three times each year featuring sessions on Fundamentals of Good Photography, Photoshop Elements Photo Editing, Photoshop Lightroom and a variety of informational and educational programs. CPS meets almost every Friday night throughout the year.

Meetings

Cleveland Photographic Society members meet each week for competitions, critiques, programs, and workshops. These are excellent opportunities for photographers to display their work and receive valuable feedback. Past programs and workshops have included topics such as: large format photography, digital photography, stereo photography, and competition judging. There is ample time before and after meetings to meet with fellow members, guests, and the evening's presenters. Regardless of your photographic interest, CPS has something for you. All regular meetings are held on Friday evenings and begin at 7:30 pm. ALL ARE WELCOME - please join us!

Twelve times each year, competition meetings are held on Friday evenings beginning at 7:30 pm. Competition entries are accepted no later than 7:30 PM. While only CPS members and current School of Photography students can compete, all are welcome to attend. Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month and are held bi-monthly. All meetings are held at 7:30 PM in the clubroom at 9543 Broadview Road in Broadview Heights, Ohio.

The CPS web calendar is always kept current and lists all club activities and details. Unless specifically noted, all Friday meetings and most other events and field trips are open to all at no charge. PLEASE NOTE: School of Photography programs - listed in blue on the web calendar - are open only to enrolled students.
